Location. The Chateau Sonesta Hotel New Orleans (La.) sits in the French Quarter, just steps from Bourbon Street. Jackson Square and Caf� du Monde are both within one half mile.

Hotel Features. Formerly a department store for 140 years, the Chateau Sonesta has preserved its pre Civil War origins with alabaster pillars from the department store's original soda fountain, marble floors, the courtyard's cypress exposed beams and the famous Clock, which still hangs from its perch on Canal Street. The Chateau Sonesta is home to one of the city's most popular restaurants, Ralph Brennan's Red Fish Grille, which serves signature dishes such as coconut crusted shrimp. American style breakfasts are served at the hotel's La Chatelaine. After a day of sightseeing, the Clock Bar is an ideal spot for cocktails and conversation. More than 10,000 square feet of meeting space is available, along with a 24 hour business center and event catering. Terra cotta colored stones and jar fountains surround courtyard enclosed outdoor pool.

Guestrooms. The four story hotel offers 251 guestrooms with 12 foot ceilings, oversized windows and an eclectic mix of antique style furniture. Many rooms include balconies that overlook the French Quarter. All units deliver high speed Internet access for a fee, CD players and video game consoles. Bathrooms boast Poggesi toiletries.
